Head Baker, Nick Anderson, will explain his ideas on baking and explain some of his family history – his family have been bakers since 1680, so there are some delightful stories to tell! Giovanni will share his tails of a traditional Italy family of bakers and what it has been like baking across the world. Not forgetting the stories that Elfyn, Stephen and Angelique have!
They will give a demonstration and an insight into baking skills and show you how to make the traditional loaves that you see here in the bakery. All the bread at Mayfield Farm Bakery is made by hand, using organic flour and taking at least three and a half hours to make, ensuring a well proved loaf – full of flavour. Under Nick’s guidance the Bakers at Mayfield Farm have won 36 World Bread Awards making the bakery one of the best in the country. The talk and demonstration lasts approximately an hour followed by a Mayfield Farm Bakery Lunch.
We believe in good, wholesome food, traditionally made without the use of unnecessary preservatives and colourings. We are keen to use the very best ingredients and from the closest source, keeping food miles to a minimum and our impact on the environment as small as possible. At Mayfield Farm Bakery we believe everyone should do what they can to support others.
This can be a challenge, especially as most of our time is devoted to baking artisan bread and cakes. However, what if we could help by supplying discounted bread and cakes for others to sell, consume and raise funds for good causes? Whether you are holding a charity coffee morning or fund raising for your local school, if your event could benefit please let us know.
We are also able to help fundraising in other ways also for example you may want to arrange a visit to the bakery. We would be delighted to help you organise your fundraising event, whether it be an afternoon tea, hiring out the Mayfield Dairy, having a talk or demonstration.
