Organic Stone Ground Flour
W & H Marriage & Sons Ltd are family run flour millers, based in Chelmsford since 1824. Marriage’s mill premium quality flour for bread making, cakes, and pastry, supplying independent high street bakeries and large scale commercial customers, as well as producing a range of flours for home bakers. Wilkin & Sons Ltd
The ‘Tiptree’ Farms
The ‘Tiptree’ story begins around the early 1700s with Trewlands, the farm that was later to become the main site for jam-making in the Essex village of Tiptree.
The Tiptree preserves business has seen good times and difficult times throughout its history but from the 1950s, there was a long period of steady growth. Tiptree business has gone from strength to strength producing their excellent jams and supplying many countries around the world. A renewed focus on home-grown fruits has helped the farm to flourish and today, it grows more fruit than ever, in stark contrast to much of the country’s fruit farming enterprises.
A year of celebration, 2010 was marked by a visit from Her Majesty The Queen. Proud holders of a Royal Warrant from the reigning monarch since 1911, Wilkin and Sons is a business that plans for the long-term: One target is ‘To do everything better than we did before; to be a remarkable business’.

Over 50 years of preserving excellence
Thursday Cottage was started in 1963 in a cottage of the same name outside Spaxton, Somerset. For many years, the business was then owned and run by Hugh and Pam Corbin from Lyme Regis, until they sold it to Wilkin & Sons.
Now based at Trewlands Farm in Tiptree, Essex, and still operate a small production unit where a variety of different preserves, curds and marmalades are made by hand. The ingredients, the open pan cooking and our products’ distinctive taste and character are little changed from when the company was based in the West Country.
We take great care in choosing the best ingredients and a variety of traditional and unusual fruits are used. All our products are made in small batches. We fill by hand when we can because it keeps the fruit whole and we believe, makes a better product.
